I stepped out of the train and the mixed smell of fresh pastries and ocean reminded me that I was in Brighton. The first thought I had was to have a coffee in the cozy Starbucks, in the old center of the city. Driven by instinct and old memories, walking through the cute roads of Brighton, stumbling upon cute flower stands and beautiful old pubs, I finally found the cafe, or at least what used to be one. Unfortunately it had been closed down, and the two-storey building was empty and filthy.
Disappointed to discover that the place where I once used to spend my evenings, peacefully reading and drinking a Toffee Nut Latte, no longer existed, I headed to the pier to enjoy the cool ocean breeze…
